Lisa

Last year we had a wonderful nurse Lisa who helped deliver Sara. She stayed with us most ofthe night. She treated us & Sara with so much respect. She took pictures of Sara - which we are grateful to have now. She helped us love Sara & create memories on the very worst day. She was spiritual without being overly preachy.

The Saturday after delivering Ethan, DH found Lisa (we had been checking around for her) & asked her to come by our room. She remembered us. We talked for a while. She seemed genuinely happy to see us again, this time with a healthy live baby in our arms.
We had several nurses during our stay with Ethan. They were all capable nurses, but I don't feel that any of them could have given us the experience we had with Lisa guiding us.

I'm glad you were able to have that experience with Lisa. Having a compassionate nurse really makes a difference. They come into our lives for a reason.

I completely know what you mean. Our angel nurse is Jessica and every time we go to that hospital we seek her out. It makes such a difference. I just wish all women in our situation could have such caring medical staff.

I just discovered your blog on the babyloss directory and it caught my interest, as we have very similar stories. We lost a full term baby girl Sept. 2006 to an umbilical cord accident and I am currently expecting again and due in early Feb (so the baby will hopefully arrive sometime in January).

Anyway, just wanted to congratulate you on your beautiful new arrival and thank you for sharing how it really feels once the "subsequent" child arrives.

ps
we also had a few special nurses that I hope we'll get to see again when the time is right!
